Western Railways announced new festival special trains between Udhana and Pune to avoid extra rush of passengers during the Durga Puja and Diwali festival. Following are the details
  • Train No. 02409 / 02410 Udhana – Pune Bi-Weekly AC Special train:- Train No. 02410 Udhana – Pune Bi-Weekly AC Special train will leave from Udhana at 13.50 hrs on every Wednesday and Friday and will reach Pune at 22.15 hrs on same day. This train will run from 15th October, 2014 to 7th November, 2014. Train no 02409 Pune – Udhana Bi-Weekly AC Special train will depart from Pune at 05.15 hrs on every Wednesday and Friday and will reach Udhana at 12.15 hrs on same day. This train will also run from 15th October, 2014 to 7th November, 2014. Stoppages:- Navsari, Valsad, Vapi, Boisar, Vasai Road, Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Lonavala stations in both the directions. Composition:- AC Chair Car and AC Chair Car Coaches.

Mumbai Metro Reduced Fare on October 2014 Holidays

Mumbai Metro announced special Ticket fare reduction this month (October 2014). A flat festive fare of Rs. 5 for children up to 12 years old, and Rs. 10 for adult will be applicable for 12 days.
 The festive tariff will be valid between October 2-5, October 23-26 and also during the second and third weekend. On other days, the existing tariff of Rs. 10-Rs. 20 would be applicable. Special reduced fare will be applicable for both Smart Card and Tokens.
So why are you waiting for let celebrate this festive month with Mumbai Metro.

Northern railways announced 71 more special trains trips from various part of the India to control extra rush of passengers during the season. Following are the details
  • Train No. 04432 Delhi Jn.- Varanasi and 04434/04433 Varanasi - New Delhi -  Lucknow Express Special (03 Trips):-Train No.  04432 Delhi Jn.- Varanasi Express special train will depart from Delhi Jn. on 03.10.14 (01 trip) at 01.20 p.m. to reach Varanasi at 06.00 a.m. the next day. Train No. 04433 Varanasi – New Delhi Express special train will depart from Varanasi on 05.10.14 (01 trip) at 06.50 p.m. to reach New Delhi at 09.55 a.m. the next day.  Train No.  04434 New Delhi– Lucknow special train will depart from New Delhi on 06.10.14 (01 trip) at 12.30 p.m. to reach Lucknow at 10.05 p.m. the same day. Composition:- six Sleeper Class, six General Class and  Two Second class cum luggage van coaches. Stoppages:-Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow and Sultanpur stations enroute in both directions.  
  • Train No. 04430/04429 H. Nizamuddin– Madgaon– H. Nizamuddin Premium Super Fast Weekly Express Special (16 Trips) :- Train No. 04430 H. Nizamuddin– Madgaon Premium Super Fast Weekly Express Special train will depart from H. Nizamuddin at 09.35 p.m. on every Wednesday from 08.10.14 to 26.11.14 (08 trips) to reach Madgaon at 06.00 a.m. the third day. Train No.  04429 Madgaon– H. Nizamuddin Premium Super Fast Weekly Express Special train will depart from Madgaon at 08.00 p.m. on every Sunday from 12.10.14 to 30.11.14 (08 trips) to reach H. Nizamuddin at 04.55 a.m. the third day. Composition:- three AC 2 Tier, four AC 3 Tier, three Sleeper Class including pantry car coaches. The 04438 Delhi Jn. – Lucknow AC Superfast Special Train will depart from Delhi Jn. on 03.10.14 and 06.10.2014 (02 trips) at 01.50 p.m. to reach Lucknow at 10.05 p.m. the same day. Konkan Railway in coordination with Western Railway and Central Railway announced Festival Special Trains 2014 between Madgaon and LTT, Karmali and LTT, and between Bandra(T) and Madgaon to clear extra rush of passengers. Following are the details.

  • Train No.00111 LTT – Madgaon will be run on 06/10/2014 and will depart from LTT at 09.05 hrs and reach Madgaon at 21.40 hrs same day.

    South Eastern Railway :: Festival Special Trains 2014
    South Eastern Railway announced 348 Long distance special trains including premium special trains from Howrah, Santragachi, Kharagpur, Ranchi and Hatia to different destinations viz. Yesvantpur (Bangalore), Chennai, Mumbai, Ernakulam (Kerala), Mysore, Puri, Secunderabad, Anand Vihar(Delhi), Dumka and New Jalpaiguri. This apart, 30 Mail/Express trains will be augmented by attaching 1 extra coach in each of these trains from September to November/December 2014. With a view to clear extra rush of passengers during the ensuing festive season, South Eastern Railway has made elaborate arrangements to run.

Howrah - Yesvantpur Express, Howrah - Puducherry Express, Howrah - Mysore Express, Hatia -Yesvantpur Express, Hatia - Pune Express will be provided with one extra Sleeper Class coach each. Howrah - Puri Dhauli Express, Howrah - Digha Tamralipta Express and Howrah - Digha Kandari Express will also be augmented by attaching one non AC chair car coach each. Similarly Tata - Bilaspur and Jharsuguda - Gondia Passenger trains will be provided with one extra unreserved coach each. 

    Besides, 76 Mail/Express Weekly Special Trains originating from various important places of the country will be passing through South Eastern Railway’s jurisdiction during the festive season.

    PREMIUM TATKAL WITH DYNAMIC PRICING :: SCR

    South Central Railway announced 50 % of Existing Tatkal Quota for 7 Trains on SCR To be Available as Premium Tatkal with Dynamic Pricing – Bookings Through E-Ticket only. Ministry of Railways has decided that 50 % of the existing Tatkal quota ticket shall be sold under dynamic fare scheme. After booking of the first 50% of the tatkal quota under the present tatkal scheme, the subsequent 50% of the tatkal quota, defined as premium tatkal quota shall be issued on dynamic pricing. This scheme shall be operational in identified trains with effect from 1st October, 2014 onwards.

    This scheme of premium tatkal berths through dynamic pricing shall be distance slab based fare scheme where the fare shall increase by 20% after each slab of 10% berths are sold subject to the existing cap (maximum fare chargeable) on dynamic fare. All rules for the tatkal quota and premium train services shall be applicable to the premium tatkal quota also.

    On South Central Railway, this scheme will be implemented on seven identified trains from 1st October, 2014 onwards. The trains are
    • Train No. 12723 Hyderabad - New Delhi Andhra Pradesh Express
    • Train No. 12721 Hyderabad - Hazrat Nizamuddin Dakshin Express
    • Train No.12704 Secunderabad - Howrah Falaknuma Express
    • Train No. 12785 Kacheguda - Bangalore Express
    • Train No. 12791 Secunderabad - Patna Express
    • Train No. 12728 Hyderabad - Visakhapatnam Godavari Express
    • Train No. 17230 Hyderabad - Tiruvananthapuram Sabari Express
    Reservations under the premium tatkal quota tickets have to be done only through E - tickets online as applicable for Premium train services.

    South Central railways announced that the Indian Railways official website that provide useful information required  for Indian Rail Passengers of Integrated Train Enquiry System, commonly known as "Rail Sampark - 139", added new features to improvement User Satisfaction. Following important new features list

    1. Mobile Based Alarm Alerts
    2. Mobile Based Destination Arrival Alerts
    3. SPOT Your Train

    Mobile Based Destination Arrival Alerts is now available on IVR ( Interactive Voice Response) / Agent Assistance /SMS through 139. This facility is for the India Rail Passengers to set an alert/pre-information call before the train reaches their destination.

    Destination Alert Call through Agent Assistance
    Customer will get an option to talk to agent as per standard 139 call transfer procedure from IVR to call center, agent will set “Destination Alert” call as per customers need.

    The user can select option for “Destination Alert” call on IVR and enter the PNR number.
    After confirmation from the user, the system checks for PNR validity, picks up destination station and sets up the “Destination Alert” call on the user’s mobile number for Destination Station Name.

    SPOT your Train
    The user has to send SMS request as – SPOT or LOCATE < Train Number>.
    The charges applicable are same as for calling “139”.
